Lawn re-size
As part of adding plants to our beds, we took the opportunity to increase the bed area and reduce the size of our yard — this is the third reduction in lawn size we have made since buying the house. Even though we mow with an electric mower, and use no chemicals on the yard, it is still a large area of a monoculture that’s not doing much for the ecosystem, so we like having it smaller.
We also had fun meeting some neighbors and making them very happy by giving away squares of healthy St. Augustine sod!
